Osteoporosis, a bone disease
Healthy bones are made up of collagen,
calcium, and minerals to provide strength and flexibility. As people
get older, old bone is removed through a process called resorption,
and you bone is added to the skeleton called formation. During
childhood and teenage years, new bone is always added faster. After
the age of 30, bone resorption accelerates faster than bone formation
can deposit.

when the estrogen and other hormones decrease. Having a family
history of osteoporosis also increases your chances of bone problems
later in life. Women have a history of anorexia nervous will have
problems with bone development. Certain medications, such as steroids
and antiseizure medicines, can also reduce the bone density. People
who are inactive, do not exercise, or remain in bed for long. Of time

and especially bones. Alcohol has also been linked with bone loss and
fractures.

calcium and vitamin D on a daily basis to help bone development. For
older adults, a bone mineral density test is an accurate way to
diagnose the risk of fractures and possible response to medications
for osteoporosis. The test itself is pain less. There are different
