Helicobacter pylori also called H. Pylori is a bacteria which causes stomach's. The bacteria has a unique structure and is in a spiral shape. This allows the bacteria penetrate the stomachs lining and protected from stomach acid. However, this causes stomach inflammation also called gastritis and is linked with ulcers and stomach cancer.

There are estimates that nearly 50% of adults are infected in developing countries. Some patients may have Helicobacter pylori but have no ulcers.

There are different ways to diagnose this infection including and dust could be which involves a camera test down the throat into the stomach, a blood test to look for antibody, or a urea breath test to check for a gas that is produced by the bacteria itself.

There are different ways to cure this infection including antibiotics and anti-acid medications.
